Nurse practitioners are able to deal with most minor injuries and minor illnesses such as coughs, earache, diarrhoea, rash, skin infections, red eye, allergic reactions, cystitis, thrush, childhood illnesses, emergency contraception and others. They are qualified to issue prescriptions.
